Job Description
The Senior Analyst, Finance will join the Brookfield Wealth Solutions Finance team and will report to the Director, Treasury. The Senior Analyst will actively support BWS’ global treasury liquidity planning function, including strategic planning and automation initiatives. The successful candidate will manage key timelines, produce timely accurate deliverables, will demonstrate critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to drive the liquidity and cash management strategy in the group. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including the treasury operations part of the team, the broader BWS finance and investments teams, portfolio company treasury teams and contacts at various financial institutions. The role is a large impact and highly visibility role as the Senior Analyst will propose ideas for how to best handle and plan for treasury needs. The deliverables prepared by the Senior Analyst will be utilized to develop the treasury management strategy and support key decisions made by Senior Management.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor liquidity and cash forecast on a weekly basis, while applying critical thinking skills to prepare variance explanations to support treasury management and strategies
- Perform weekly cash variance analysis, including but not limited to investigations of discrepancies and root causes of key variances which will be shared with Senior Management
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with financial institutions, internal and external stakeholders to support compliance, covenant reporting and guide their understanding of Brookfield
- Prepare quarterly debt and corporate credit facilities forecasts and liquidity working papers for board decks
- Identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency within our treasury processes to support corporate debt and credit facilities management strategies
- Leverage your financial background to support and influence key strategic and business decisions
- Support and collaborate with other finance teams in the preparation of quarterly and annual materials related to debt, liquidity, and financial commitments and assist with related SOX/audit testing
- Prepare liquidity reports to investments teams to assist with strategic business decisions
- Proactively identify potential issues and propose solutions to assist the team with seamless operation
- Perform ad-hoc analysis upon request to support diverse business requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- A university degree in business, finance or a related field
- Working towards CPA or CFA designation
- 2-4 years of work experience in a finance and/or accounting function
- Experience in a treasury-related function with a bank of financial institution is an asset
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Experience using or configuring a treasury management system is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to own and improve processes
- Strong communication and collaborative skills, written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to operate independently
- Organizational skills to effectively manage priorities, multi-task where necessary, work well under pressure and meet timelines and the ability to deal professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Judgement, critical thinking and analytical skills combined with attention to detail and thoroughness, with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations
