Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking a Senior Analyst to administer pension plans and provide analytical support for retirement benefit calculations. You will maintain client relationships, coordinate information between clients and trustees, and help prepare year-end pension statements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Defined Benefit pension administration experience.
• Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related Pension Administration

What you’ll do

As a Senior Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in administering pension plans and providing analytical and administration support. Here’s what you’ll do:

• Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally

• Calculate and process timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review such for simple plans

• Foster strong relationships between clients and the consulting team

• Coordinate information flow between clients and trustees effectively

• Reconcile plan assets and plan memberships with precision

• Train new analysts on systems and procedures to ensure consistency

• Prepare year-end annual pension statements accurately

• Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations conscientiously

• Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements

• Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy

• Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics

• Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value

• Assist with special projects as required to support team goals

What you bring

We’re looking for an experienced and skilled individual with:

• 3 to 5 years of Defined Benefit pension administration experience (including complex retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown calculations)

• Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration

• Advanced knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation

• Experience reviewing pension calculations and member transactions

• The ability to lead projects, taking ownership and accountability for assigned tasks

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with ease

• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

• A strong client service focus with exceptional professional acumen

Salary Range: $ 65,000 - $ 70,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. We’re open to discussing competitive compensation packages tailored to your experience level and expertise.
