Job summary

Domtar is seeking a Senior Analyst, Credit in Montreal to perform risk analysis on new and existing customers, minimize credit risk, and ensure timely collections in line with Credit Policy. You will manage a portfolio over $75M+ across ~200 accounts and collaborate with Sales, Customer Service and Sales Accounting to resolve issues while maintaining data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent with 5+ years in Credit Analysis and Collection.
  • Familiar with credit tools (scoring models and financial statement analysis).
  • Working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) and Oracle (JDE).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Perform risk analysis on new and existing customers to minimize credit risk and ensure adherence to Domtar’s Credit Policy.
  • Ensure timely collection of a portfolio and improve accounts receivable % current and DSO.
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts and resolve complex collection issues.
  • Liaise with Sales, Customer Service and Sales Accounting to resolve disputed invoices and deductions.

The location in Montreal , ( Quebec , Canada ), is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior Analyst, Credit. This job is full-time permanent .

Overview:

Reporting to the Manager, Credit, your role will consist of performing risk analysis on new and existing customers to minimize credit risk and exposure by validating strict Credit Department adherence to Domtar’s Credit Policy and Procedure. You will also ensure timely collection of a portfolio to increase accounts receivable percentage current and decrease DSO, resolve complex credit issues with customers and provide quality customer service.

Your skills and challenges :

Effectively manage an assigned major account portfolio of $75M+ (for +/- 200 accounts).

Establish, maintain, and review accounts files and credit scorings.

Maintain detailed on-line documentation of collection action taken and correspondence with stakeholders regarding issues impacting collection.

Follow-up on delinquent customer accounts to maintain customer payment habits within our established payment terms.

Resolve complex collection issues with customers to ensure prompt collection.

Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Sales Accounting to ensure resolution of disputed invoices, deductions, and other items.

Ensure integrity of the master data files related to Credit.

Troubleshoot problems related to collections, masterdata, deductions and systems whenever they affect credit or collections process.

Ensure timely review and release of held orders and advise Sales and customer accordingly.

Participate in the different department projects.

Establish and maintain efficient work relationships with internal and external customers.

Professional and courteous communication

Your profile :

Bilingual French and English (Required for all Corporate Positions)*

You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent coupled with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in Credit Analysis and Collection.

You are familiar with Credit tools (scoring models and financial statement analysis).

You have a working knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) and Oracle (JDE)

You have a good knowledge of Microsoft office and advanced knowledge of Excel functions.
