Job description

Our esteemed client in Calgary is seeking an experienced Senior Analyst, Complex Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards through research of accounting implications related to new accounting and regulatory standards, and complex or non-routine transactions. This role will also assist in completing duties related to the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle.

Your success will be defined by your ability to :

• Research acceptable accounting treatment and disclosure alternatives for complex and non-routine transactions
• Maintain awareness of and research new and emerging IFRS accounting standards, and related regulatory requirements
• Advise management and cross-functional teams on accounting-related issues
• Actively participate in the execution of accounting-related projects
• Assist in the quarterly and annual financial reporting cycle
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package and related analysis
• Provide support in the preparation of supporting documentation for the MD&A and securities filings
• Ad hoc assignments supporting Corporate Reporting and other stakeholders

Your strengths include :

• CPA designated
• 5+ years of industry experience
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and the Canadian Securities Administrators rules and regulations
• Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
