Job summary

CMHC in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Asset Management to support the organization’s physical and digital asset lifecycle, ensuring governance and risk requirements are met.

You will lead end-to-end lifecycle activities, collaborate with IT and business lines, manage vendor relationships, and oversee procure-to-pay processes and asset records.

The role requires an undergraduate degree in IT/Business and at least three years of asset-management experience within an IT environment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in IT/Business or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of asset-management experience within an IT environment.
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, CIs, SWEs, inventory integrity and ITIL-based processes.
  • Experience in procure-to-pay, including invoices, approvals and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Asset Lifecycle Management: manage end-to-end lifecycle of physical and digital assets, including procurement, deployment, inventory, renewals and disposals, ensuring policy compliance.
  • Asset Administration & Service Delivery: oversee asset records, warranties, vendor coordination, and service delivery with focus on quality and prioritization.
  • Collaborate with IT and business lines to assess requirements, review budgets and provide guidance on asset management implications.
  • Support asset acquisition/renewal by coordinating sourcing, quotations, requisitions, invoices, and financial records.
  • Assist in investigating contract deviations and risks, proposing corrective actions.
  • Support management of technology vendors with monitoring of contracts, service levels, and risks.
  • Assist clients by providing guidance to promote service excellence and best practices.

About the role

Join the Office of the Vice President, Information Technology team, in the Senior Analyst, Asset Management position. You will support the operational delivery of the organization's physical and digital asset management function, ensuring effective asset lifecycle management and compliance with corporate, regulatory, and risk management requirements. The role also supports technology vendor and contract management, third-party risk oversight, and asset governance in accordance with Treasury Board directives, OSFI requirements, and internal policies.

Whatyou’lldo:
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle management of physical and digital company assets, including acquisition planning, procurement requirements, deployment strategies, inventory management, renewals, and disposals, whileidentifyingopportunities for lifecycle optimization and ensuring compliance with CMHC corporate policies, regulatory obligations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Asset Administration & Service Delivery: Coordinate and continuously improve the operational administration and delivery of asset management servicesand processes, including asset records management, warranty and vendor-service coordination, and related lifecycle support activities. Provide direction on service prioritization, performance monitoring, and quality assurance to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent service delivery.
  • Collaboratewith business lines and Information Technology teams toproactively assess asset requirements, reviewbusiness cases,procurementrequirements, budgets,financialinformation, and provideguidance andrecommendationsonasset management issues, including lifecycle implications, asset planning, asset risks,whileensuringalignmentwith CMHC’sportfolioobjectivesand corporate strategies.
  • Support asset acquisition and renewal activities byidentifyingsourcing requirements, reviewing quotations, coordinating purchase requisitions,validatingand approving invoices, resolving billing issues with vendors and Accounts Payable, andmaintainingaccurateprocurement and financial recordsin accordance withCMHC’s corporate policies and procedures.
  • Assist in investigating and assessing contract deviations by gathering and analyzing relevant information, assessing the scope, root cause, and potential impacts on operations, finances, compliance, and service delivery,identifyingaffected stakeholders, and recommending corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies to support informed decision-making and contractual compliance.
  • Support the managementof technology vendors and service providers by monitoring contract compliance, service commitments, performance metrics, and risksrequirements, andidentifyingandaddressing issues as they arise.
  • Assist clients by providing guidance and technical expertise to promote service excellence and asset management best practices.
What you should have:
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in asset management within an information technology environment, including vendor management, service delivery, stakeholder and client relationship management, andprojectplanning and coordination.
  • A proven experience using ServiceNow for hardware and software IT asset management, including the maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Configuration Items (CIs), Software Entitlement (SWEs), inventory management, data integrity, asset reconciliation, asset lifecycle management and controls, ServiceNow reporting, and the administration, tracking and fulfillment of ITIL-based service requests items (RITMs) and incident management processes.
  • Hands onexperience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, including creating purchase requisitions, purchaseorderand vendor invoice management.
  • A demonstrated ability to support end-to-end procure-to-pay processes, including invoice receipt, invoice and payment reconciliation, approval workflows, automated invoice processing, and the generation of financial and operational reports from the ERP system.
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and validate financial and technology product/service requirements, assess business needs, apply sound judgment, communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders, and contribute to the development and recommendation of client-focused solutions.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, competing priorities, and associated pressures while delivering quality results.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills, demonstrated through effective verbal and written communication, sound judgment, diplomacy, initiative, and professionalism, with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, build productive stakeholder relationships, and deliver customer-focused outcomes in response to evolving business needs.
It would be great if you also had:
  • A solid experience using Microsoft SharePoint to coordinate, organize, classify, and maintain electronic records in accordance with the Government of Canada information classifications, ensuring the integrity, accessibility, and accuracy of CMHC corporate records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize and maintain data; create and use structured tables, sorting, and filtering, to support accurate reporting and day-to-day operational activities.
  • A demonstrated experience analyzing processes and controls to gather information, respond to inquiries, and support the implementation of corrective actions and process improvements.
