Job description

Your role :

  • Participate as a member of the leadership team in setting targets and assisting the Account Transition Services team in achieving its objectives.
  • Review, analyze, and make decisions on complex account opening documentation and supplementary forms, including but not limited to QI / FATCA documentation, Trust documentation, etc.
  • Ensure meticulous review of all submissions to approve or decline accounts within the established service level agreement (SLA).
  • Identify and clearly articulate anomalies and opportunities for improving onboarding tools and platforms.
  • Assist in managing department projects; lead initiatives to improve processes within the team and NBIN.
  • Analyze monthly data to identify trends and provide insights supporting strategic decision-making to enhance business performance.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on account opening process requirements, providing internal and external support.
  • Support audit mandates for NBIN.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders such as Service, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Contribute to developing and documenting policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.

Your team :

Within the National Bank Independent sector, you are part of a team of 7 professionals supporting entrepreneurs going independent, existing Portfolio Managers, Introducing Brokers, and Investment Fund Managers. This position is based in Toronto.

Prerequisites :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of Investment Dealers Supervisor Course (IDSC), Derivatives Fundamentals, and Options Licensing Course (DFOL).
  • Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to create efficiencies, optimize processes, add value, and go beyond normal duties.
  • Expertise in Excel (large data sets, macros, pivot tables, etc.), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
