Job summary

G2V Optics in Edmonton is seeking an Analog Electronics Engineer (Product Development) to own from concept to production. You will translate customer needs into clear requirements, manage timelines and risks, validate through tests, and coordinate work including paper models, simulations, proofs of concept, and prototypes.

The role links electronics design with optics, thermal, and manufacturability considerations, requiring strong fundamentals and hands-on bench skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering/physical sciences or computer science.
  • 3–5 years in product development taking electronics from concept to production.
  • Understanding of product management fundamentals: user stories, requirements, stakeholder engagement, and traceability.
  • Ability to manage timelines, budgets, and risks; navigate early-stage ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for gate reviews and updates.
  • Technical depth in electronics to evaluate designs and conduct reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering Testing & Oversight: write test plans, define pass/fail criteria, document results, and conduct design reviews.
  • Engineering Design: translate requirements into buildable designs; perform iterations with paper models, simulations, and prototypes.
  • Product Management: maintain user story maps and requirements; engage with customers during gate reviews.
