Job summary

Asana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our AI organization in Vancouver, shaping a human-agent operating system with AI-powered workflows. You’ll work on architecture across core runtime, evaluation pipelines, and customer-facing builders that coordinate humans and AI agents.

This Vancouver-based role features an office-centric hybrid schedule with in-office days and optional WFH; you’ll join a team delivering enterprise-grade systems while mentoring peers and advancing technical

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience in distributed systems or microservices.
Experience with LLMs, agentic patterns, evaluation pipelines, or RAG.
Proven ability to write design docs and lead multi-engineer projects.

Responsibilities

Drive technical design, architecture and delivery of medium-to-large AI projects.
Design robust, extensible systems for agentic execution and model orchestration.
Balance debt, velocity, risk and business goals in decision making.
Identify risks early and break down visions into milestones and tasks.
Promote technical excellence, write design docs, and mentor engineers.
Collaborate with product, design, data science to align tech with strategy.
