Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support enterprise AI/ML solutions on AWS. You will work with architects, data engineers, and stakeholders to deliver AI-powered applications, RAG workflows, and reusable AI platform capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software engineering, 3+ years on AWS, and strong Python/API skills, plus experience with Bedrock and security governance. This role supports hybrid work in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, incl. 3+ years on AWS.
• Hands-on with AI/ML/Generative AI production solutions.
• Strong Python and RESTful API design skills.
• Experience with Bedrock and core AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, RDS).
• Experience building RAG solutions and AI agents/workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate AI/ML solutions on AWS.
• Build production apps using foundation models and Bedrock.
• Design secure RAG pipelines from ingestion to retrieval and governance.
• Engineer agentic solutions with tool access, memory, and auditing.
