Job summary

Desjardins Group in Montreal seeks a Change Management capacity planning expert to forecast workforce capacity across portfolios, model scenarios and guide staffing decisions.

You will lead the Synergy tool development, govern capacity data, and provide analyses to management while partnering across cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as listed or equivalent
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in demand, capacity and allocation modelling
• Experience interpreting management data and developing scenarios/recommendations

Job description

Do you want to put your expertise in workforce planning and capacity management to work to support large-scale transformations at Desjardins? Do you know how to read and interpret management data to draw findings, prepare scenarios and make recommendations? If so, this position is for you! The Change Management Centre of Excellence supports Desjardins Group’s transformations by assigning change management advisors to projects, programs and business units. Its capacity to meet demand is based on the alignment between portfolio needs and resource availability, skills and allocation. Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Execution Performance, you develop an integrated, forward-looking view of resource demand, capacity and allocation. You analyze and interpret management data to anticipate capacity gaps and inform allocation, prioritization and staffing decisions. You also contribute to the ongoing development of Synergy, the centre’s SharePoint tool, so that it becomes the authoritative source for resource and capacity data. You will help the centre of excellence anticipate its staffing needs, optimize the use of its resources, objectively assess gaps between demand and capacity, and make better-informed assignment and staffing decisions, while supporting the development and balance of its teams.

More specifically, you will be required to:

• Develop and maintain a forward-looking view of workforce capacity by portfolio, level and skill
• Consolidate current and projected demand and translate it into resource needs
• Model capacity and develop scenarios to anticipate gaps, overloads and bottlenecks
• Support decisions regarding the allocation, rebalancing and prioritization of the project portfolio
• Produce analyses and recommendations for the manager and management committee
• Provide functional leadership in the ongoing development of the Synergy tool with respect to resources, projects, assignments and availability
• Establish governance and quality mechanisms for capacity data
• Simplify planning and reporting mechanisms
• Provide guidance to the data analyst and support the development of their expertise.

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, business intelligence, human resources management, industrial engineering, project management or a related field
• A minimum of six years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Demonstrated experience in demand, capacity and allocation modelling
• Experience interpreting management data and developing scenarios and recommendations for management
• Experience communicating analytical requirements to data specialists
• Experience in the ongoing development of a management tool or data centralization platform
• Experience working in a complex, cross-functional, matrix-based environment
• Experience using and interpreting management dashboards, including in Power BI
• Experience assessing the quality, consistency and limitations of the data used
• Significant experience in capacity management, workforce planning, portfolio management or operational planning
• Knowledge of French is required
• Proficiency in the analysis and interpretation of management data
• Proficiency in the definition and interpretation of capacity indicators
• Proficiency in Excel
• Knowledge of SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
