Job summary

Desjardins is seeking a senior internal audit advisor and IT specialist to drive audits, assurance, and compliance across information systems. You will lead cross-functional projects, communicate findings, and guide strategic initiatives with extensive analytical depth and stakeholder coordination.

The role requires a IT risk, cybersecurity, and IT auditing focus, with strong executive writing skills and fluency in French, plus working knowledge of English. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
  • Six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in executive writing and presenting.
  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to duties or tools.
  • Proficiency in internal audit methodologies and quality assurance standards.
  • Proficiency in information technology auditing.
  • Proficiency in cybersecurity, IT operations, telecommunications, data governance, IT architecture or related fields.
  • Knowledge of IT risk management.
  • Knowledge of information technology auditing standards, frameworks, guidelines and procedures (COBIT, NIST, ITIL).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of governance, controls and risk management processes and present findings to improve quality.
  • Identify risks of technological impacts in the integration of solutions for business sectors and support functions, ensuring compliance with guidelines and frameworks.
  • Advise clients and partners to help position, plan, develop, execute and monitor strategic projects under responsibility.
  • Identify risks of technological impacts in integration and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
  • Present results to managers responsible for audited activities.

Job description

As a senior internal audit advisor and IT specialist, you contribute to internal audit, inspection, assurance, and compliance activities related to information systems. You conduct audits with our internal partners, produce reports, and follow up on recommendations according to the methodology of the Desjardins Group Monitoring Office in order to provide the organization with assurance regarding the degree of control of its operations, preserve its value, and help create added value. You lead practitioners on development projects and innovative, complex strategic initiatives. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your specialty area. You make recommendations on the development and execution of projects and initiatives with a high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. You use your analytical skills and detailed, comprehensive understanding of your line of business and the organization. Coordination is critical. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy is therefore essential. You serve as a specialist advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person for decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in executive writing and presenting
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Proficiency in internal audit methodologies and the application of quality assurance standards
  • Proficiency in information technology auditing
  • Proficiency in one of the following areas: cybersecurity, IT operations, telecommunications, data governance, IT architecture or a related field
  • Knowledge of information technology risk management
  • Knowledge of information technology auditing standards, frameworks, guidelines and procedures (such as COBIT, NIST and ITIL)
