TELUS Health is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our defined benefits and actuarial services practice. You will assess pension plan financial health, conduct valuations, analyze funding requirements, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes accurate financial analysis and collaboration across teams. Based in a hybrid environment, Halifax or Fredericton candidates are encouraged to apply, including those willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of industry experience, preferably in pension.
• Strong competency with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assess the financial health of pension plans by conducting regular valuations (plan assets, liabilities, participant demographics, and investment performance) to determine funding status.
• Calculate pension benefits for plan participants based on years of service, salary history, and retirement age; ensure calculations comply with plan rules and regulations.
• Help plan sponsors determine appropriate contribution levels to ensure long-term sustainability of the plan.
• Assist in design and modification of pension plans.
