Job summary

McGinnis Loy Associates is assisting a Top15 UK Accounting Firm in Buckinghamshire to recruit a Senior Accounts Manager/Senior Outsourcing Manager. You will manage the department and staff, review complex client accounts, and ensure outsourcing work remains profitable and timely.

Reporting to the Accounting Partner, you will interact with CFO/MD level clients. You should be ACA/ACCA qualified, ideally degree-educated, with IFRS/IAS knowledge and strong staff management, recruitment and training

Responsibilities

• Review complex client management accounts for Partner sign-off.
• Review year-end statutory accounts for UK & International businesses.
• Manage a department of 12+ staff including Managers and seniors.
• Recruit, train and appraise the Accounting Services team.
• Ensure timely, profitable outsourcing work in line with WIP standards.
• Liaise with Tax & Audit heads and attend client board meetings.

Job description

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a fast-growing Top15 UK Accountancy Firm who are looking to recruit a Senior Accounts Manager/Senior Outsourcing Manager for their team in Buckinghamshire. Reporting to the Accounting Partner, you will be responsible for managing the department and teams of Qualified & Junior Client Accounts staff. Key duties include:

• Reviewing complex client management accounts prepared by staff for Partner sign-off
• Reviewing complex year-end statutory accounts for UK & International businesses
• Team management of 12+ staff which include experienced Managers & Qualified staff members
• Appraising the Accounting Services team and feeding back to the Partner as necessary
• Managing the Departments workflow and timetabling to ensure all client needs across the firm are met
• Liaising with other Heads of Department that support year-end work including Tax & Audit teams
• Responsible for a small portfolio of large & complex business clients and attendance at client board meetings
• Conducting on-site IT client training for new clients and updates for existing clients
• Point of contact for major clients and other third-party stakeholders, with direct contact at CFO/MD level
• Ensuring all departmental Outsourcing work is carried out profitably and on a timely basis in accordance with the firm’s WIP & quality standards

To be considered for the role you should be a Qualified ACA/ACCA Accountant, ideally degree-educated with comprehensive client delivery & client portfolio management experience. You should have strong staff management skills, have been responsible for team recruitment & training, and you should have ambitious, entrepreneurial and highly-driven character traits. You should also be technically up to date with IFRS & IAS, and an expert user of cloud-based Accounting systems.

On offer is a salary up to £75,000 depending on qualifications and skills with benefits to include company pension, healthcare, 25 days holidays and other flexible benefits.
