Job summary

MNP on Vancouver Island is seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join our Assurance & Accounting team. You’ll support compilation, bookkeeping and tax engagements, including corporate and personal returns, and help ensure timely, accurate financial reporting for our clients.

With at least two years of accounting experience and a relevant degree or certificate, you’ll collaborate with engaged professionals in a on-site role that offers competitive pay, strong benefits and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s; knowledge of personal and corporate tax is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compilation, bookkeeping and preparation of tax engagements, including corporate and personal tax filings, and other tax slips (T4s/T5s/T3s, etc).
• Prepare and maintain bookkeeping records and processes, including account reconciliations, financial record accuracy, and support for timely financial reporting and compliance.
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions.
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.

• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes is considered an asset
• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

The annual salary range for this opportunity is $55,000 to $70,000. Compensation is determined based on individual skills, relevant experience and certifications.
