Job summary

Senior Accounting Technician position at MNP is located on-site in Canada. You will support assurance and accounting engagements, assisting with compilation, bookkeeping, and tax-related tasks while maintaining client files and budgets.

The role requires 3+ years of accounting experience, knowledge of T4s/T5s, and proficiency with accounting software. Travel flexibility and collaboration with engagement teams are expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience required.
• Experience preparing T4s and T5s and knowledge of personal and corporate tax.
• Working knowledge of accounting processes and principles.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compilation, review, bookkeeping and tax engagements.
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
• Set-up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning.
• Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process.
• Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, intercompany and POS/system uploads.
• Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions.
• Communicate with the government regarding information requests, assessments and installments.
• Work collaboratively with the client engagement team.
• Liaise with clients on administrative matters and provide functional advice to other team members.
