Job summary

Doane Grant Thornton is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Privately Held Business Group to provide client services, prepare financial statements, and deliver tax returns with mentorship to junior staff. The role emphasizes strong accounting expertise, problem-solving, and collaboration within a growing national firm.

You'll work with clients on current business challenges, plan engagements, and contribute to a supportive team culture that values professional development and flexible work

Qualifications

• University degree or diploma with accounting concentration.
• 3–5+ years of experience in public practice serving owner-managed businesses.
• Relevant professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven problem solver with solid analytical skills.
• Strong technical experience in accounting and tax.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Working with clients and providing exceptional client service.
• Providing solutions to clients on current business and financial issues.
• Planning, preparation and execution of financial statements for review engagements and compilations with appropriate note disclosures.
• Planning and preparation of working paper files for review engagements and compilations.
• Preparation and filing of personal and corporate tax returns.
• Providing mentorship and training to junior team members.
