We are looking for a driven individual to join our fast-growing PalAmerican finance team and be a key member of our Financial Reporting department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multiple tasks in a busy work environment, proficiency working with ERP software and a willingness to learn. We are looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who takes pride in their work and is looking to grow their career with one of Canada's best managed companies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for monthly closing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting working papers.

• Perform review and analysis of monthly financial results, identifying any discrepancies and/or opportunities for margin improvement.

• Assist with acquisition integration activities as well as acquisition accounting entries.

• Identify the need for, implement, and document new processes to improve financial controls and optimize workflows.

• Effectively partner with other departments to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve requests.

• Assist and lead ad-hoc projects, as requested, such as audit and insurance renewal.

• Mentor new staff, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• CPA professional accounting designation or on the path to becoming CPA designated.

• 3+ years progressive accounting experience

• Strong quantitative skills - proficient in excel and strong foundation in financial concepts

• Ability to quickly understand business processes and contribute at a high level with superior attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and ability to partner effectively with all levels of the business

• Experience working with our ERP Software, Winteam and PowerBI considered an asset
