Job summary

Armco is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our corporate finance team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The role covers month-end, quarter-end, year-end close, financial reporting, intercompany accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.

Reporting to the Controller, you will work with the Finance team to ensure accurate financial information delivered on time and support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Progress toward professional accounting designation is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Experience with ASPE and close processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting and reporting activities.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and schedules.
• Maintain balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding; ensure compliance.
• Prepare financial statements and disclosures under ASPE.
• Coordinate intercompany transactions and audits.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analyses.
• Support process improvements and provide guidance to the team.
