Job summary

NutraChamps Inc. in Toronto seeks a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting for a fast-growing ecommerce and CPG business.

You will manage month-end close, bank reconciliations, inventory valuation and financial reporting, with strong attention to detail and Excel expertise. You will collaborate with external payroll, CRA, auditors and cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate financial data and timely compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience.
• Experience independently managing month-end close and financial statements.
• Strong inventory accounting experience including valuation, landed costs and COGS.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations and balance sheet management.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, financial data analysis).
• Experience with ERP accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain detailed supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses, investigate discrepancies and communicate findings to management.
• Ensure financial records comply with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Coordinate year-end accounting activities and support external accountants, auditors and financial reviews.
• Oversee inventory accounting including valuation, landed costs, COGS and inventory adjustments.
• Reconcile marketplace transactions across Amazon, Shopify, Walmart and other sales channels.
• Maintain accurate accounting for supplier deposits, inventory in transit and manufacturing costs.
• Investigate and resolve inventory and financial discrepancies with Supply Chain and Operations.
• Prepare and maintain rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Monitor cash balances, expected collections and payments.
• Support management with cash flow projections, working capital analysis and planning.
• Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and financial performance analysis.
• Supervise AP/AR Clerk and oversee reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Support improvements to accounting processes and NetSuite reporting.
• Prepare and reconcile indirect tax filings (HST) and coordinate with external accountants.
• Prepare financial schedules and ad hoc reports.
