An established and growing organization in the luxury resort and real estate development space is seeking a SeniorAccountant to join its dynamic Finance team. This full-time, Calgary-based role will support a multi-entity operation focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences and high-end real estate projects. The successful candidate will bring strong project accounting knowledge, analytical acumen, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.Position Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountantwill be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly reporting, conducting reconciliations, and providing analytical insights to aid decision-making. This role plays a key part in financial planning, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives across resort operations and real estate development projects.Key Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Execute monthly close processes to support timely internal and external reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements for various business units
- Provide insightful financial analysis and key performance indicators to operational leaders
- Support project-specific reporting related to ongoing real estate developments
- Perform account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and ensuring data integrity
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate ledger and sub-ledger information
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist in budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Contribute to cash flow projections and variance analyses
- Identify and implement enhancements to streamline financial reporting and operational workflows
- Assist in the rollout and optimization of financial systems and tools
- Work cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and development teams to gather and interpret financial data
- Act as a financial resource for internal stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience- CPA designation (or close to completion) with 3–5 years of relevant post-designation experience.
- Strong project accounting experience, ideally within real estate or construction
- Proficient in Sage Intacct and Sage Construction (or similar financial systems)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively
