Job summary

Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Data Strategy and Risk Team, responsible for financial oversight of registrant firms, risk assessment, and data-driven regulatory insights.

The role requires a CPA designation with 8+ years in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, plus strong IFRS and regulatory knowledge. You will lead risk reviews, improve processes, and support investor protection.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis with securities regulation or risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, audit practices and financial statement analysis.
• Ability to assess complex financial information and communicate recommendations.
• Interest in technology, data analytics, automation and continuous improvement.
• Experience leading or mentoring others and fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee reviews of registrant financial information, including audited statements and participation fee filings.
• Assess solvency, participation fee obligations, internal controls, and compliance with Ontario securities law.
• Design risk-based review methodologies using financial analysis and data analytics.
• Drive data, technology and process improvements for financial oversight and risk assessment.
• Lead the Risk Assessment Questionnaire (RAQ) program and participate in special projects.
