A leading company in the finance sector is looking for a Senior Accountant in Vancouver. This role involves comprehensive accounting responsibilities including financial reporting, tax compliance, and treasury management. The Senior Accountant role is responsible for Reporting & Accounting (Financial Administrator, Payroll Administrator).
They may provide business support for the preparation of financial analysis, gathering, analyzing, and evaluating financial information for the assigned financial analysis on a regular basis, preparing reports, presentations, etc.
Support on special projects or activities as required, for example, contributing to the design, implementation, and management of financial processes (budget, reporting, and compliance), change management, assisting in the company’s monthly and yearly closing, setting up internal control systems, and adopting Nutreco policies for financial reporting.
Financial Reporting: Reconciling accounts, including bank statements and sub-ledgers, to ensure accuracy; maintaining the general ledger and ensuring proper accounting for all transactions; assisting with internal and external audits and tax filings; contributing to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Cash and Treasury: Overseeing cash and liquidity management through cash flow planning and forecasting; reviewing funding needs; monthly reporting of all treasury activities to senior management; analyzing and performing appropriate hedging and funding activities (forex, loans, deposits, etc.); managing banking relationships; managing treasury operations and controls (cash pooling, forex hedging, etc.); DNB supply chain financing / weekly purchase requests.
Tax: Ensuring that the company complies with local and federal laws; coordinating with tax managers on matters related to tax audits; providing assistance to internal and financial audits; supporting corporate tax return working papers; monthly and quarterly tax reporting – PST, QST, Non-resident Tax, annual tax reporting.
Intercompany account reconciliation and intercompany balance settlement.
Insurance: Managing insurance renewals, claims reporting, vehicle insurance renewals, and payments.
