Job summary

Crocodile is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial operations, maintain records, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide strategic insights. The role focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and leveraging technology to improve processes.

The Senior Accountant will shadow the current controller for 3–4 months, then assume full ownership of finance and admin duties while driving modernization. This is an office-first, owner-operator role with approximately 32 hours per week.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. This role requires a strong background in accounting software and financial analysis, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in budgeting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting to support the company's growth and stability.

The Senior Accountant will shadow the current fractional controller for 3-4 months, take over the function completely, and then modernize the finance and administrative backbone of Crocodile. This is an office-first, owner-operator role for a high-potential finance leader with strong upside. This position will require approximately 32 hours per week of availability.

Required Skills/Experience:

• CPA Designation
• Proven ability to maintain and improve internal controls, cash management processes, and compliance workflows.
• Hands-on experience managing cash flow forecasting, treasury routines, and daily cash awareness.
• Experience owning annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and KPI dashboards with measurable business impact.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.
• Evidence of acting as a financial steward, treating company resources with the same care as personal finances.
• Demonstrated ability to shadow, document, and assume ownership of existing workflows without disrupting operations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
