Job summary

Jenkins, Martin & Gosse - Chartered Professional Accountants in Canada is seeking a knowledgeable, client-focused Senior Accountant who delivers high-quality accounting and advisory services. You will lead audit, review and compilation engagements, prepare year-end statements, and advise on tax matters with a collaborative team.

The role requires a CPA designation and 3–5 years in public accounting, with proficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, Caseware and Profile.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements and prepare year-end financial statements for diverse clients.
• Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.
• Advise clients on tax compliance matters including income tax, payroll, and HST.
• Lead, mentor, and support junior team members and foster growth.
• Apply knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting to client engagements.
• Provide support on other accounting and advisory matters as required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead audit, review, and compilation engagements, including the preparation of year-end financial statements for a diverse range of clients.
• Prepare and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns.
• Advise clients and address tax compliance matters, including income tax, payroll, and HST.
• Lead, mentor, and support junior team members, fostering their professional development and growth.
• Apply your knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and financial reporting requirements to client engagements.
• Provide support on other accounting and advisory matters as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• CPA designation.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting.
• Business degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience preparing year-end audit, review and compilation engagements.
• Experience with accounting and tax software including Sage 50, Quickbooks, Caseware, and Profile.
• Efficiency, willingness to learn and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A positive attitude with effective communication skills.
• Bookkeeping experience is considered an asset.
