Senior Accountant

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on CPA who enjoys complex accounting work, mentoring others, and collaborating across teams.

They partner closely with clients and manufacturers to deliver thoughtful, sustainability-focused solutions across a wide range of industries.

What- The Role:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our client. Reporting to the Controller, this position leads complex accounting tasks, prepares internal and external financial statements, manages month- and year-end closes (including working papers), and delivers insightful financial analysis.

This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, supports cross-functional collaboration for accurate reporting, and provides guidance to colleagues without formal accounting backgrounds. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.

  1. Prepare financial analyses and reports.
  2. Calculate and process commission payments.
  3. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  4. Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
  5. Oversee direct external assurance engagements to ensure compliance.
  6. Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  7. Liaise with the Project Analyst to improve project financial procedures.
  8. Maintain the accounting system.
  9. Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls.
  10. Lead operational staff training efforts to improve the quality and flow of financial data.
  11. Support junior staff as needed or assigned.
  12. Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and system optimization.
  13. Perform additional assigned responsibilities as needed.
Who- the Candidate:
  1. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
  2. 4+ years of experience in full-cycle accounting.
  3. Background in engineering or construction industry is an asset.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  5. Very strong financial analysis skills.
  6. Solid background in consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.
  7. Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  8. Skilled in utilizing technology with a focus on its practical application, rather than deep technical expertise.
  9. Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Business Central is an asset.
  10. Ability to train and manage staff.
How much:

$80,000-$100,000, discretionary bonus, robust benefits package.

Where:

North Vancouver, BC, hybrid working model of Mon-Thurs onsite, Friday remote.
