Job summary

Valnet Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented FP&A/Accounting professional to join our finance team in Montreal.

You will assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and intercompany reconciliations, while developing dashboards and KPIs to track business drivers. You should have a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a CPA in progress, with strong Excel and ERP (Oracle NetSuite) skills, plus familiarity with US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA designation (completed or in progress) preferred.
• 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite).
• Experience with financial reporting tools (Power BI) is an asset.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, taxes and regulations an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with different departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses.
• Assist in the monthly consolidation process and perform intercompany reconciliations.
• Analyze financial performance, trends, and key business drivers.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes while developing dashboards and KPIs to track business drivers.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for major balance sheet items.
• Support audit requests and documentation preparation.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in system implementations or upgrades (ERP, reporting tools).
• Investigate and resolve A/R and A/P discrepancies by collaborating with sales and operations teams.
