Job summary

NVS Professional Corporation in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Senior Accountant - Assurance to join a collaborative, growth‑oriented team with a long local presence. You will mentor junior staff, support the team and Partners, and ensure accuracy and confidentiality on client files.

The role emphasizes developing others and leveraging technology such as Caseware, Taxprep, and advanced MS Excel to deliver high‑quality assurance work for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Be a graduate of a University Accounting Program or equivalent.
• Have successfully completed CFE.
• Have 2 years of experience in a public accounting Firm.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO and CAS.
• Proficiency with MS Office and advanced formulas, and experience with Caseware, CaseView, Jazzit, and Taxprep.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop less experienced team members.
• Collaborate with the team and Firm partners to ensure quality work.
• Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all client matters.
• Draft client documents from templates and review prior to submission.

Education, Experience and Credentials

• Be a graduate of a University Accounting Program or equivalent
• Have successfully completed CFE
• Have 2 years of experience in a public accounting Firm
• Have Advanced knowledge and application of general accounting principles (GAAP), IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO, and Canadian Auditing Standards
• Have the ability to proficiently draft client documents from templates
• We believe in using technology to its fullest, so demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, with the ability to create advanced formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, sum ifs, and data analytics, and proficiency with Caseware, CaseView, Jazzit, and Taxprep.
• Promptly identify significant issues for discussion with the Manager and/or Partner
• Bring an inquisitive mindset and pose credible solutions to issues
• Ensure that all queries and outstanding points have been cleared satisfactorily
• Critically review your work before submitting it to your Manager
