Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Calgary, AB (On-site), Permanent Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support the financial reporting team during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes
• Calculate purchase prices for acquisitions and prepare related journal entries
• Review acquisition balances, monitor monthly movements, and perform reconciliations
• Analyze income statements, reconcile changes, and explain variances
• Reconcile bank and sub-ledger accounts
• Prepare regulatory and government reports (RIBO, GST/HST, sales taxes, etc.)
• Collaborate with teams to streamline workflows and automate tasks
• Assist team members with daily questions
• Handle additional tasks and ad-hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing, preferably with public company exposure
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, SEC regulations, and accounting standards
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial data clearly
