Senior Search Consultant | Elevated People Solutions

Our client, a chartered professional accounting firm providing comprehensive personal and business accounting services tailored to a wide range of client needs, is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role will work closely with the firms partners to deliver exceptional service and tailored solutions to clients.

Located in the vibrant and growing community of Okotoks, Alberta, they are proud to support individuals and businesses across all sectors with personalized, high quality financial services, from personal tax returns to corporate year-end filings. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a blended workload that includes both hands on accounting and higher level file oversight.
• Compile year-end corporate files, including financial statements, tax returns, and accompanying note disclosures.
• Take the lead in preparing review engagement files, demonstrating strong expertise in Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
• Prepare personal income tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
• Provide corporate and personal tax planning.
• Review GST filings and be available to support broader tax compliance needs when required.
• Liaise with legal professionals on complex files as needed.
• Review and provide feedback on files completed by junior team members, while managing and coordinating engagement teams.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff to support their professional development.
• Actively contribute to the firms strategic objectives and continuous process improvements.

Key Requirements:

• CPA designation is required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of Canadian ASPE, tax legislation, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, CaseWare, Tax Cycle, QuickBooks Online, Sage and other various accounting software.
• Experience or familiarity with insurance-related accounting is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and client service.
