Our Oil & Gas client in Calgary is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their accounting team. A successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, joint venture and general accounting, tax compliance, and banking. This role will is at the client’s downtown office, working 100% in person.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Financial Management / Treasury : Record cash transactions and reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Data Integrity : Maintain master data in Qbyte FM and manage month-end processes.
- Joint Venture Oversight : Review joint venture billings, manage disputes, ensure accurate reporting.
- Accounts Payable : Code, sort, approve invoices in OpenInvoice; monitor timely approvals.
- Stakeholder Collaboration : Build relationships with stakeholders, vendors, team members.
- Process Improvement : Develop systems / processes, identify benchmarking opportunities.
- Team Engagement : Participate in meetings to evaluate requirements and optimize processes.
- Positive Work Environment : Foster a supportive environment for a high-performing team.
- Financial Reporting : Assist with financial statements preparation and review; support reporting processes.
- Peer Benchmarking : Conduct analysis to compare performance with industry peers; provide recommendations.
Your strengths include :
- Experience in audit and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (specifically Excel).
- Previous experience with Qbyte FM and OpenInvoice.
