Senior Accountant / Administrator

Location: Burlington, Ontario
Salary: Up to $85,000
Employment Type: Full-time (Hybrid)

This private investment firm focuses on equity placements in industrial services businesses and commercial real estate. The firm specializes in value-add investments, leveraging expertise in complex underwriting and fast turnarounds. It has also expanded into asset management, particularly in the industrial and commercial sectors.

The Role
Accounting & Financial Management
  1. Manage accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and cash flow planning
  2. Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and investment tracking
  3. Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax and employment regulations
  4. Coordinate tax filings, audits, and liaise with external tax professionals
  5. Maintain accurate financial records, risk management oversight, and regulatory compliance
Administrative & Operational Oversight
  1. Manage business insurance policies and oversee operational risk management
  2. Plan and organize family and business-related events and reports
  3. Provide administrative support, including document management and calendar coordination
  4. Collaborate with external advisors on legal, tax, and investment matters
What You'll Need to Succeed
  1. 7-10 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or family office administration
  2. CPA designation or equivalent (preferred)
  3. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
  4. Strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations and financial reporting standards
  5. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  6. Experience in a family office, high-net-worth individual environment, or investment-focused organization (preferred)
  7. Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
