Job summary

Sony Pictures Imageworks, Inc. in Vancouver seeks a project-based Senior CG Modeler to create and assemble 3D models for characters, props and environments, and to work with production teams to meet show deadlines.

Proficiency in Maya, Mudbox, ZBrush, 3D Coat, Topogun and Paraform, plus scripting in MEL/Python/Perl, is preferred. A demo reel showing relevant artistic and technical work is required; 3+ years in production or feature films is desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years production experience or feature film experience preferred.
• Demo reel illustrating relevant artistic and technical experience for this role.
• Ability to work well in a team or independently and meet schedules.

Responsibilities

• Creates and builds computer generated 3D models for assigned story elements and designs.
• Prepares and builds models for characters and stand-ins for layout.
• Develops prop elements for effects.
• Creates environmental sets and structures.
• Writes, maintains and runs Makefiles, scripts and model databases.
• Meets productivity and quota targets and adheres to show deadlines.
• Interacts with production, supervisors and peers to problem solve and share information.
• Interprets shot turnovers, dailies and feedback and follows through.
