Job summary

Merit Ontario is seeking a 4th Year or above 306A Plumbing Apprentice to join its mechanical services team in Kitchener, ON. You will support licensed plumbers on new construction projects, including mid-rise buildings, hotels, commercial spaces, and custom homes.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning and progression toward journeyman status. Compensation is $36–$42 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Licensed Plumber or 4th Year Apprentice (Red Seal preferred).
• 3–5 years of plumbing experience, preferably with new construction.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Experience on mid-rise buildings, hotels, commercial spaces and high-end homes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation and repairs of plumbing systems in various settings.
• Transport tools, materials, and equipment to job sites.
• Install sinks, fixtures, and related plumbing components.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve plumbing issues promptly.
• Follow Ontario building codes and safety protocols on site.
