Job summary

Merit Ontario is seeking a Licensed Plumber or 4th Year Apprentice to join our mechanical services team in Kitchener, ON. The role focuses on new construction projects across mid-rise residential buildings, hotels, commercial spaces, and custom homes, with an emphasis on installation, maintenance, and collaboration with other trades.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multiple trades.
• Proven time management in a fast-paced construction site.
• Valid G-class driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Physically able to lift heavy materials and work in varying weather.
• Experience with large-scale commercial/hospitality plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems.
• Read blueprints and specifications to determine layout.
• Install plumbing for new construction projects including mid-rise buildings and hotels.
• Follow safety protocols and building codes.
• Collaborate with electricians and HVAC technicians to integrate systems.
• Mentor and supervise apprentices on site.
