Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking an SEND Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with Autism in Handsworth. The role is on-site, full-time and temporary, with an immediate start and a daily rate of £90–£120.

You will provide classroom and individual support, adapt your approach to meet each pupil's needs and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure access to learning. A patient, resilient and adaptable attitude is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and individual support, adapt approach to meet individual needs, and work closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning.
• Assist with day-to-day activities and longer-term support as required by the placement.

The setting provides a supportive and structured environment where pupils receive personalised support to help them develop their confidence, communication and independence.

The setting is looking to appoint SEND Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and long-term opportunities, with an immediate start. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will provide classroom and individual support, adapt their approach to meet individual needs and work closely with teaching staff to help pupils access learning.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with SEND

Experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD

Experience working with primary-aged pupils

Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
