Job summary

Walmart Canada in Port Coquitlam is seeking a friendly Self-Checkout Attendant to maintain the self-checkout area and assist customers with transactions in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will monitor activity, explain interventions clearly, respond to EAS alarms, and help customers use the Scan & Go system while promoting company initiatives. Flexible scheduling includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Self Checkout Area Standards; keep the area clean, safe, organized and free of debris and spills.
• Promote Walmart programs and initiatives, including credit card services and protection plans when applicable.
• Assist customers at self checkout to complete transactions quickly and confidently, explain interventions kindly and escalate issues if needed.
• Respond to EAS alarms and complete the required documentation in the log.
• Ensure Scan & Go equipment is stored properly after use.
• Be flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalate cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.Respond to EAS Alerts and Complete DocumentationResponds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.Manage Scan & Go EquipmentEnsures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.Flexibility (Availability/Work Schedule) • Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
