Position Summary... Working as a Self-Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada is a great way to develop your skills in the retail industry. A Self-Checkout Attendant provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and assists customers processing transactions through the self-service area(s). What you'll do...

1. Keeps the area neat, clean, and organized, free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
2. Educates customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service options, when applicable.
3. Promotes company sponsor programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, when applicable.
4. Observes customer activities to determine when and if assistance is needed.
5. When interventions and quality checks are required, politely explains the reasons for the intervention or checks, reassuring customers that such procedures are normal protocol.
6. Demonstrates knowledge about responding to EAS alarms and filling out the "Failure to Deactivate" log.
7. Calls the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area is low on cash or has a technical issue.
8. Returns Scan & Go scanners to their designated area after use.

The minimum pay rate for this position starts at $18.85. The actual rate will be determined based on relevant experience.
