Job summary

IBM Software is seeking a software engineer to contribute to our Security UI POD. You will build secure, intuitive frontend experiences using React, Redux, and TypeScript, while occasionally touching backend components to deliver end-to-end features.

You’ll work with Go/Java/C++ on the identity stack, collaborate with AppSec and platform teams, and participate in design reviews while applying a security-first mindset across UI and services.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of software engineering experience (internships/projects welcome).
• Depth in frontend development with React, Redux, and TypeScript, across the stack.
• Proficiency in a backend language (Go/Java/C++ or similar).
• Strong CS fundamentals and familiarity with distributed/cloud-native systems.
• Interest in security and identity concepts (authN/authZ, SSO/OIDC/SAML, encryption).
• Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and work with mentors.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and ownership of tasks.
• Frontend craft mindset with security-first approach and scalable architecture.

Responsibilities

• Deliver well-scoped tasks within the Security UI POD with quality and timeliness.
• Build frontend experiences in React, Redux, and TypeScript for security workflows.
• Make backend changes when needed to end-to-end delivery.
• Learn security component architecture and become its go-to expert.
• Write design/task documentation, participate in design and PR reviews.
• Apply secure coding practices across UI and identity services.
• Learn Confluent's development practices and contribute to operations.
• Collaborate with AppSec and partner teams on security requirements.
