We are currently recruiting a full time site supervisor to work with us at our Newton BIA site in a community safety role. This is a activeposition working with members of the public, local police and RCMP.
Shift times: Monday to Friday 8am till 4pm
Payrate: $26.05/hr
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Assisting the RCMP as a visible community presence to promote safety and security
- Observe and report any unusual activity
- Taking detailed notes to investigate incidents promptly and accurately
- Establishing positive relationships with transit police, business owners, and community members
- Engaging with the public and responding to their concerns and inquiries
- Equipment care and maintenance
- Investigating incidents promptly and accurately
- Maintain up-to-date Post Orders and Site Safety, Risk, and Quality Assurance assessments
- Submit reports,time sheets, and staff evaluations as per deadlines
- Oversee trainingand scheduling of Commissionaires
- Leading through empowerment, and monitoring staffmorale, discipline, and progress
- Ensure team maintainsa professionalstandard ofconduct,dress and deportment
- Liaise with the client to ensure their instructions are carried out as per written policy
- Contacting management in situations not covered by Post Orders
Your Must-Haves:
- Valid BC SecurityLicence
- Advanced Security Training Certificate
- Ability to clear a Criminal Background Check
- Demonstrated interestorexperience inlaw enforcement andserving the public
- Positive and professional attitude, with strong customer service skills
- Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
- Able to stand for long periods and work both indoors and outdoors in a range of weather conditions
- Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
Your Nice-To-Haves:
- Volunteer experience, tactical communication or verbal judo training, and radio knowledge of the 10-code and the phonetic alphabet.
- Advanced Security Training
- RCMP or Policing experience
- Experience working in a similar role
