Job Description
Reporting to the Operations Manager of Industrial Security Limited (ISL), the Security Site Supervisor will lead and oversee 24/7 security operations at the Saint John LNG facility in Saint John, New Brunswick. This critical role involves managing a dynamic team of Security Officers and ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, employees, and assets.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily security operations to protect the company’s physical assets, properties, and resources.
- Provide leadership, direction, and training to Security Officers, including resource allocation and performance management, along with supporting recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Manage access control security systems.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess security needs and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Manage security policies and procedures (Standard Operating Procedures – SOPs), identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with the site manager and operations teams.
- Act as a liaison between clients, the security team, and management to address concerns, facilitate communication, and build positive relationships.
- Develop and maintain a network of information to proactively reduce operational risks and foster relationships with law enforcement and private sector partners.
- Coordinate security reporting, conduct drills, and oversee ongoing training.
- Ensure adherence to Public Safety New Brunswick regulations through routine inspections.
- Assume overall command of security operations during critical incidents or major security events.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in security, emergency management, or law enforcement, with the ability to support and motivate a 24/7 security team.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role, with a proven track record in leading and mentoring large, diverse teams.
- Strong knowledge of security systems, risk assessment, and emergency response planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with all organizational levels.
- Ability to respond to after-hours calls and emergencies.
- Experience in training development and coaching.
