Job description

The Security Site Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing four post-secondary campuses in the Fraser Valley. This position requires a high-energy individual who can multitask and effectively lead and mentor a team of 15+ security professionals. The successful applicant must lead by example and set a high standard of service for both customers and clients.

Job Duties

1. Patrols as needed
2. Delegate access and service requests to staff, conduct them yourself if needed
3. Respond to first aid or other incidents
4. Act as Incident Commander during significant incidents unless relieved by higher authority
5. Review reports with shift supervisors
6. Escalate significant issues to the client
7. Ensure spelling, grammar, and other issues are corrected prior to client review and coach staff on shortcomings
8. Confirm SOPs are followed during incident response; train staff if needed
9. Meet with internal managers to review reports, incidents, upcoming events, and other issues
10. Be available and visible to provide top-quality customer service to all campus community members
11. Train and mentor officers on site duties, protocols, conduct, reporting procedures, and policies
12. Conduct investigations into thefts, harassment, assaults, or other incidents in coordination with security management
13. Be on call for site emergencies at all campus locations
14. Review schedules with the head office scheduler and assist as needed
15. Coordinate with the recruiter on staffing needs and participate in interviews and training
16. Discuss service levels with the operations manager; address recognition, coaching, training, or disciplinary needs
17. Conduct Health and Safety Audits, Toolbox Talks, and Site Hazard Assessments with supervisors
18. Audit first aid and emergency equipment, access control, CCTV, and alarm systems with supervisors
19. Participate in service review meetings, addressing client concerns
20. Review staffing needs and overtime with management and scheduler
21. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma, College Diploma, or certificate (asset)
• Minimum 3+ years of security experience in a Site Supervisor or Manager role
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in the security industry
• Valid Security Worker License
• OFA II or III certification
• ICS Level 300 training (provided to the right candidate)
• Strong communication, assertiveness, interpersonal skills, and team orientation
• Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude
• Supervision, decision-making, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, or Filipino is an asset
