What You Will Do

A Johnson Controls Security Technician troubleshoots and services intrusion, IP CCTV, access control, and alarm systems from multiple manufacturers. The candidate will possess strong verbal communication skills to identify customer needs and inform them of next steps and processes to repair the system, restoring full functionality. Skills and experience to inspect these systems to ensure proper operation and to provide written or digital reports to customers and the company are required.

How You Will Do It

• Locate and repair damaged equipment or wiring.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for proper operation.
• Perform installation, repair, and inspection of intrusion detection, IP CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Assist fellow technicians with system repairs and perform minor repairs such as battery replacements.
• Test system operation to the customer monitoring center to establish service connectivity.
• Complete all forms accurately and handle customer paperwork as required.

Required

What We Look For

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the security or fire industry.
• Excellent knowledge of major security manufacturer platforms, including:
• Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass thorough background and identity checks.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work out of town, overtime, and participate in on-call rotations.

Preferred

• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to unload ladders from fleet vehicles and climb ladders.
• Operate fleet vehicles safely at all times.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to obtain a Reliability Security Clearance.
• This role is unionized.
