Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Mississauga, ON, is seeking an experienced security technician to perform preventative visits for CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems in commercial settings. The role requires how you deliver service to high standards and adhere to CANASA and industry practices.

You will join a multi-trade team delivering design, service, and maintenance with a focus on safe operations. A Federal Level II clearance and a valid driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-years’ experience working within the Electronic Security Systems industry.
• Excellent knowledge of CCTV, Access Control, Door Entry and Intruder Alarm Systems.
• Knowledge and experience of Systems Networking and IP Configuration.
• Must be capable of obtaining a Federal Level II Security Clearance.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Staying current on the entire line of security solutions provided by Ainsworth (i.e. AMAG, Avigilon, Genetec, ICT, RS2, Salient, etc..)

Responsibilities

• Deliver preventative visits to access control, intruder alarm and CCTV systems, mainly in commercial environments, to company and industry standards.
• Maintain strong customer communication, and be a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Manage work effectively and align with the company’s vision and values.
• Assist installation and service teams on similar projects when needed.
• Diagnose faults on complex systems and adapt to new technologies.
• Hold a Full Clean Driving License - Essential for this post.

Job Summary

Primary responsibilities will be to deliver preventative visits to access control, intruder alarm and CCTV systems, mainly in commercial environments, to company and industry standards, within a given time.

Key Responsibilities

• Have a passion for the trade and is a problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent customer communication skills, and is a team player with a can-do attitude.
• Have a good knowledge of CANASA and security industry Standards.
• You should be able to manage your work and exhibit the companies vision and values.
• You must have experience working in a similar role in the security industry.
• Multi-disciplined in the security industry from service, small works, fault-finding and maintenance, and having installation knowledge.
• Hold a Full Clean Driving License - Essential for this post.
• Must have the ability to adapt to new technologies.
• Depending on experience, the person will be expected to deal with pre-booked preventative visits on small or large systems.
• Must have excellent fault diagnosis skills, including working on more complex systems, and occasions will assist with the installation team on similar projects.

The salary range is $70,000.00 to $95,000.00 per hour. Actual salaries will vary based based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
