Allied Universal is seeking a Security Professional - Mobile Patrol for Brampton, Ontario. The role involves patrolling shelters, controlling access, and responding to incidents to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of shelter security experience, holds a Ontario Security Guard License, and has First Aid & CPR certification. Shift is 12-hour continental, including nights, Sunday through Saturday, at $19.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Access Control & Monitoring: verify IDs, log entries, and authorize access to the shelter.
• De-escalation & Conflict Management: respond to incidents using trauma-informed approaches.
• Safety & Security Patrols: patrol interior/exterior and report hazards or policy violations.
• Emergency Response: assist during medical, fire, or security emergencies and evacuations.
• Incident Documentation: write detailed incident reports and coordinate with staff and emergency services.
• Collaboration with Shelter Staff: support daily operations and high-risk resident interactions.

Overview

Allied Universal® is seeking experienced Security Professional - Mobile Patrol to provide security services at a shelter environment in Brampton, Ontario. This role requires individuals who have prior experience working in shelters hospitals, supportive housing or similar high-interaction environments, supporting vulnerable populations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong de-escalation skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting, and professionalism when managing challenging behaviors. This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and controlled environmentfor residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Access Control & MonitoringControl and monitor access to the facilityVerify identification, manage entry logs, and ensure only authorized individuals enter the shelter
• De-escalation & Conflict ManagementRespond to behavioral incidents involving shelter residents or visitorsUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approachesMaintain calm, professional conduct in high-stress or emotionally charged situations
• Safety & Security PatrolsConduct routine patrols of the interior and exterior of the facilityIdentify and report safety hazards, suspicious behavior, or policy violationsSecure doors, exits, and restricted areas
• Emergency ResponseRespond to medical, fire, security, or behavioral emergenciesAssist staff during evacuations or critical incidentsFollow site-specific emergency and incident response protocols
• Incident DocumentationComplete detailed and accurate incident reportsCommunicate effectively with supervisors, shelter staff, and emergency services when required

Key Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Must be 25 years of age or older for driving insurance
• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)
• Legally eligible to work in Canada (up to 40 hours per week)
• Ability to work overnight shifts
