SUMMARY
About the Role – Security Officer
As a Security Officer at Park Hyatt Toronto, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues. You will be responsible for executing the hotel’s safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and upholding the highest standards of service in alignment with our commitment to Forbes 5-Star excellence.
This role requires a proactive approach, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide discreet, professional service at all times. You’ll serve as a visible and reassuring presence throughout the property, ensuring a secure atmosphere while delivering the warm, thoughtful hospitality that defines Park Hyatt Toronto.
Some of the responsibilities include:
· Respond promptly and professionally to guest and colleague emergencies and incidents
· Complete thorough and accurate incident reports and assist with follow-up investigations
· Provide basic first aid and coordinate emergency response as needed
· Monitor all areas of the property through regular patrols and surveillance systems
· Manage security arrangements for VIP guests and high-profile arrivals
· Develop and maintain safety and security procedures in alignment with hotel standards
· Support the training and communication of emergency procedures to all departments
· Participate in risk and safety audits, and support follow-up on required improvements
· Act as an ambassador of Forbes 5-Star service in all guest and colleague interactions
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall guest experience
· Uphold the highest levels of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
· A true desire to care for others and support a luxury service environment
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to remain calm, composed, and effective in high-pressure situations
· Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
· Proficient in basic computer applications and incident reporting systems
· Previous experience in hospitality security or a similar customer-facing role preferred
· Valid Ontario Security Guard License required
· First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset
