Job Summary:

Provides a reasonably safe and secure environment by providing security services for staff, patients, visitors, and premises, and acts as a first responder to urgent facility matters.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities

1. Protects property and staff by conducting interior and exterior rounds, observing for safety and security issues, theft, and monitoring parking lots.
2. Promotes visitor and employee safety by providing door checks, detecting lighting deficiencies, confirming elevator operation, assisting with disruptive individuals, patient restraints, and providing escorts.
3. Responds to overhead pages or requests for assistance, including escorting emergency personnel and providing post-mortem services.
4. Offers professional customer service in complex situations, communicates safety hazards to clinical staff proactively.
5. Reports security concerns, completes incident reports and logs, and forwards them accordingly.
6. Assists with property maintenance and safety checks, including alarm testing, safety equipment checks, and door integrity.
7. Enforces organizational policies and procedures.
8. Monitors, reviews, and investigates incidents using video systems.
9. May operate a vehicle for patrols.
10. Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience.

Experience & Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a psychological assessment after a conditional job offer.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant use of hearing and vision.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing objects up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, and twisting.
• Occasional climbing, kneeling, reaching, and lifting over 50 lbs.
• Occasional driving and data entry.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Various state-specific licensing requirements, including driver’s license and security officer licenses.
