Sodexo Ltd is seeking a professional Security Officer to maintain a safe, secure environment for staff, visitors and contractors. The role involves responding to incidents, patrolling, CCTV monitoring and access control while delivering excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will work a 4 on / 4 off pattern, 42 hours per week, and be able to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally. Training and uniform are provided as part of the role.

Rate of Pay: £12.71 per hour

About the role

We are looking for a professional, reliable and customer-focused Security Officer to join our team at Sodexo.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors and contractors while delivering excellent customer service. You'll play an important part in protecting the site, responding to incidents and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Security Officer who enjoys a varied role, takes pride in maintaining high standards and can remain calm and professional in challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site patrols, lockups/openings, and respond to ad hoc security requests.
• Monitor CCTV, investigate incidents, compile reports, and prepare evidence packs as required.
• Manage access control, including badge issuing, badge making, and visitor checks.
• Carry out emergency response tasks and liaise with client personnel during incidents.
• Perform equipment audits, car park monitoring, and handle incoming calls professionally.
• Comply with all Assignment Instructions, company standards, uniform/dress code, health & safety policies, and participate in required training/inductions.

Ideally, you\'ll have:

• Previous experience in a security or similar customer-facing role.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive when handling challenging situations.
• Good IT skills, with the ability to operate CCTV, access control and other security systems.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate written records and reports.
• A good understanding of health and safety procedures and confidentiality requirements.
• A professional appearance, positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• The physical capability to carry out patrols and other duties associated with the role.
• Flexibility to work the required shift patterns and attend training when necessary.
