Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Guard for a Retail Centre in Vancouver, BC. The role involves patrolling, controlling access, and monitoring CCTV and alarms to protect people and property.

You will respond to emergencies, document incidents, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will have 1–2 years of security experience, a BC security licence, and First Aid/CPR certification, with the ability to work up to 40 hours a week,

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in Retail environments.
• Valid British Columbia Security Services Worker Licence (required).
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, report writing, and incident documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular interior and exterior site patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Maintain high visibility at security posts and ensure coverage of sensitive areas.
• Enforce access control procedures by verifying IDs and logging entries.
• Prepare and issue identification badges while maintaining confidentiality.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems to protect assets.
• Communicate incidents and security concerns promptly to management.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with emergency services.
• Complete incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Conduct general security duties and address safety concerns.
• Prepare accurate security documentation and records.

• Strong observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage incidents professionally, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in access control, corporate office security, or similar professional security environments is considered a strong asset.
