Job summary

Allied Universal in Vancouver, BC is seeking a Security Guard - Retail Centre. You will protect people, property and assets while delivering professional customer service at a retail site. Shifts Sunday to Wednesday 10:00–21:00, background check required, and BC Security Services Worker Licence is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in Retail environments.
• BC Security Services Worker Licence (required).
• First Aid & CPR Certification required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Legal to work in Canada; willing to work up to 40 hours/week.
• Strong computer proficiency and incident documentation.
• Experience with CCTV monitoring and access control.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain high visibility at security posts and cover sensitive areas.
• Enforce access control; verify IDs and issue badges.
• Produce and manage identification badges; maintain confidentiality.
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems for incidents.
• Communicate clearly with team and management; report incidents promptly.
• Respond to emergencies calmly and coordinate with responders.
• Complete incident and shift reports with accuracy.
• Protect company assets from theft and vandalism.
• Identify and address security and safety concerns.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, report writing, and incident documentation.
• Experience using CCTV monitoring, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
• Strong observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage incidents professionally, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in access control, corporate office security, or similar professional security environments is considered a strong asset.
