Job summary

Allied Universal Cornwall is seeking a part-time Security Guard-Patient Watch to protect clients and facilities in Cornwall, ON. You will manage access, patrol premises, respond to incidents, and monitor CCTV and alarm systems, while documenting activities and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires 6 months to 1 year of security experience, fluent English, a valid provincial security license, and first aid certification. Must be able to work 40 hours weekly and be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the site, ensuring that only authorized persons can enter.
• Carry out regular patrols of the premises to identify and resolve security risks.
• Incident response: Respond to security incidents and emergencies, ensuring the safety of all concerned.
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Maintain accurate security logs and incident reports; elevate issues as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with provincial and local security regulations.
• Work closely with other safety personnel and customer staff to maintain a safe environment.

Security Professionals play a vital role at Allied Universal Security Services. They are essential to achieving our company’s core mission: “To serve and secure the people and businesses of our community.” Our guards are entrusted with ensuring the safety and security of the facilities they are assigned to protect.

Throughout their shifts, Security Professionals handle a variety of responsibilities. These may include patrolling the facility either on foot or by vehicle, managing the entrance by answering phones, greeting guests and employees, and monitoring closed-circuit television systems, alarms, and other critical systems.

Our officers serve as a visible deterrent to crime and rule violations, detect suspicious activities, and remain vigilant for potential criminal actions or breaches of client rules that could pose a threat to the property, clients, guests, or employees on site.

Job Type: Part-time

Shift Type: Monday to sunday

Pay Rate: $20.76

Shift type: days, evening overnight and swing

Responsibilities:

• Team collaboration: Work closely with other safety personnel and customer staff to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications:

• 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a security officer
• Fluent in English (verbal and written)
• Computer skills required: Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reports and documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent work experience.
• Must possess a valid Provincial Security License
• First aid certificate required
• Provide documents that confirm you can work 40 hours per week in Canada.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Mantoux test (tuberculosis)
• Measles (proof of vaccination or serology)
• Measles (proof of vaccination or serology)
• German Measles or Rubella (proof of vaccination or serology)

Driving Positions

• Valid full driver's license (for driving positions)
• Must be 25 years of age or older for insurance purposes
• Obtain a clean driver abstract
